Norris expects tough weekend for McLaren: "It looks tough"
- GPblog.com
McLaren cannot be at all satisfied with the first day of the Singapore Grand Prix. With Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo failing to finish in the top ten in both practice sessions, the British formation has plenty of work ahead of it. Norris does not expect it to be easy either.
The Briton had to settle for a 19th time in first practice, while his fastest race lap a few hours later was good for 11th. Although Norris had imbibed that his team would struggle in Singapore, he seemingly did not expect it to be so disappointing.
"It's looking tough," Norris said afterwards in an interview with Formula1.com. "We are a long way from Alfa Romeo and even further from Alpine. So it looks like one of the tougher weekends. That's unfortunate, but it's the way it is."
Norris hopeful about chances for Saturday
Norris stressed at the same time that he and his team need to get the most out of his car and then see what this will mean for the result. He hopes McLaren can make some improvements before Saturday so he can have a strong qualifying session.
