Ferrari team boss: 'Expect penalty of at least ten seconds for Perez'

Sergio Perez has to report to the stewards for not staying within ten car lengths of the safety car. The Mexican himself is unaware of any wrongdoing, but he may therefore have to hand back his victory. At Ferrari, at least, they are convinced that Perez will get at least a 10-second penalty.
Perez crossed the finish line with a lead of just over seven seconds. Gained 10 seconds on top of his race time, he fell back to second place.
Ferrari suspects penalty
"During two different safety cars, Checo made the same mistake," team boss Mattia Binotto told the Italian branch of Sky. The formation from Maranello expects Leclerc to still be awarded the win. "We expect a penalty of at least 10 seconds. We are sorry that a decision was not made already in the race because then Charles pushed and consumed the front tyres."
The entire podium ceremony is now over and Perez has already been presented with the trophy. It would be remarkable and perhaps a letdown from the FIA if Leclerc can go and collect his award in the Red Bull Racing garage later.
