Max Verstappen is on match point in Japan for the second time this season. The Dutchman has many good memories at the Suzuka circuit and thinks it is possible to add another one to that this weekend.

Things did not go smoothly for Red Bull Racing and the Dutchman in Singapore, so the team are gearing up for an improvement at the Japanese GP. With a win and the fastest lap, Verstappen will become the F1 world champion for the second time in a row. In the Red Bull preview of the weekend, the Limburger says: "We are finally back in Japan after what feels like a very long time. I can't wait to race at Suzuka again."

Verstappen says a second title is possible in Japan

Verstappen reflects on his F1 debut: "I love being in Japan and I have a lot of good memories here, the food is great and the fans are very special, they are very kind and polite. We have another chance to win the Drivers Championship, we have to have a perfect weekend but it could be possible, we’ll give it our all." Verstappen's RB18 is expected to be fast at the Japanese circuit, but if it runs smoothly, Ferrari will not be far behind.

Finally, about the track, Verstappen says: "The track is very old school, there’s a lot of fast corners and you have to build throughout each session. Let’s see what the weather will do as I hear there is rain incoming so that might spice things up a little bit."
