The first world title is already a fact in the Red Bull Racing camp. After some confusion, Max Verstappen won his second world title at the Japanese Grand Prix. The constructors' title is also within reach, with Red Bull very likely to win the second title already in America in two weeks time.

To win the world title in the constructors' championship, Red Bull must have a lead of at least 147 points over Ferrari at the US Grand Prix. The team currently has a 165-point lead, so there is a good chance Red Bull will be able to celebrate again in a fortnight' time.

Different scenarios for Red Bull title

In the most extreme scenario, where Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz cross the line first and second in America including the fastest race lap, Verstappen and teammate Sergio Perez need to score a combined 26 points to take the world title. This would succeed if the two Red Bull drivers finish third and fourth.

Given Verstappen and Red Bull's dominant second half of the season, it seems unlikely that Ferrari will grab a one-two in America. The Dutchman could take no less than his 13th win of the season in two weeks time. Together with the fastest race lap, that result alone would be enough for Red Bull to win the constructors' title. If Verstappen and Perez both finish ahead of the Ferrari drivers, the constructors' title is also automatically a certainty.
