In 2023, 2021 Formula 2 champion Oscar Piastri will take a seat in the second McLaren car on the grid. Piastri is the third teammate Lando Norris may welcome alongside him at the British racing stable. Although Piastri does not bring the experience that former teammate Carlos Sainz and current teammate Daniel Ricciardo did, Norris certainly thinks he can learn from the young Australian, reports Motorsportweek.com.
The young Brit says he enjoys working with different people because he can learn from everyone. In the case of Piastri, he thinks of the knowledge and experience Piastri gained during his time at Alpine. In addition, he is looking forward to the boost a new driver brings to the team.
Norris under contract until 2025
Norris will drive for the third year at McLaren this year, the team where he started his career in Formula 1. Alongside Sainz and Ricciardo, he emerged as a fast driver, securing his place in the team. Communication within the team is good, he says, and they listen carefully to what he wants and does not want from the car. The young McLaren driver signed a contract in early 2022 that commits him to the racing stable until 2025.
