Hamilton wants multi-year contract at Mercedes

Lewis Hamilton already revealed that he wants to sit down with Mercedes for a new contract, but the Briton has now also indicated that it would be a multi-year deal. The seven-time world champion does not know when to stop for now.
In an interview with the BBC earlier this week, Hamilton revealed that he plans to extend his contract with Mercedes, which runs until 2023. Hamilton has been driving for the team since 2013 and hopes to win more races and world titles with the German. The inferior 2022 season does not change those plans.
Hamilton's new contract
''I think it will be a multi-year contract. There’s like this whole thing of [me] retiring that’s always lingering around and honestly, I don’t like the idea of it and I don’t feel like I’m there. We have a lot more work to do as a team, as individuals within the team, we have a lot more to do as a sport and I want to be a part of that shifting,'' Hamilton said opposite Formula1.com.
By the latter, Hamilton is mainly referring to his struggle to make the sport (and the world) more inclusive and diverse. Besides those goals, the Mercedes driver is also still about the racing itself: ''We have more winning to do'', Hamilton sets himself and Mercedes as his goal.
