Max Verstappen will go for his fourth victory in the Mexican Grand Prix on Sunday. Speaking to Viaplay, he looks ahead to the race and discusses his approach to the first corner.

Ahead of the race, Verstappen says he feels little tension, but - logically - is always very focused on the start. "You do look forward to the first lap and the first corner, because you know that is the trickiest part of the race. There, of course, we have to try to stay in front. On the other hand, if we have enough speed I do see good chances in the race to just try to win," said the Red Bull Racing driver.

Verstappen prefers to be on pole

Verstappen has already won three times at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez but never did so from pole position. However, he does not believe it is more advantageous to start from a different position. "In the end, I always prefer to start first. Last year I started third and there were three of us next to each other, then it was really just who would brake last. If we end up with three of us next to each other again, we just have to do the same," the Dutchman concluded.
