Oliver Mintzlaff is the new leader of Red Bull. The former CEO of football club Red Bull Leipzig will take over from Dietrich Mateschitz along with Franz Watzlawick and Alexander Kirchmayr.

With Mateschitz's death, the head of the Red Bull organisation has gone, but it soon became clear that the future of the brand is not in danger. Financially, plans have already been made by Mateschitz to secure the future of his brand and the leadership within the organisation has now also been redistributed.

New frontrunner for Red Bull

According to Formel1.de filled by three people as of now. Kirchmayr has been appointed CFO, Watzlawick is CEO Beverage Business and Mintzlaff will be CEO Corporate Projects and Investments. This makes Mintzlaff directly responsible for marketing and thus the point of contact for Formula 1 teams Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri.

Mintzlaff himself is no stranger to the world of sport, having previously served as CEO of football club RB Leipzig. Mintzlaff was also already active as an athlete. As a long-distance runner, he finished fifth at the German half-marathon championships in 1999 and in 2001 he finished eighth over a 10-kilometre distance. After his sporting career, he also worked at Puma between 2000 and 2008.
