Andreas Seidl is feeling the excitement towards the end of the season. With two Grands Prix remaining, the end is also in sight for McLaren, but the team boss wants to focus on the formation's results for now. After all, the German wants to go into 2023 with a good feeling.

McLaren had hoped for a different season prior to the racing year. Whereas the British stable wanted to compete for the world championship, this season it is mainly competing in the midfield of the driver field. In doing so, it could make a step up in Brazil and Abu Dhabi.

Seidl wants to see calm at McLaren

Indeed, the team is fifth in the constructors' championship with just seven points behind Alpine. So if Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris manage to put in good performances over the next two weeks, that is achievable. Seidl is particularly curious about the spin race in Brazil.

"It comes with some challenges that we must prepare for, such as one less practice session and looking at what spares we need at the track with the increased risk of damage. However, it also provides an opportunity to pick up some vital extra points," he revealed in McLaren's press release.

"It should provide some good entertainment for everyone watching," continued Seidl, advising his team to stay calm. "As we head into the final two races of the season, and with it being a double header, we need to keep our heads down and give everything we’ve got."
