In the closing stages of the season, Charles Leclerc battled Sergio Perez for second place in the drivers' championship, but before that, the Ferrari driver was mostly concerned with the title fight against Max Verstappen. Speaking to L'Equipe Leclerc talks about the mistakes he made in 2022.

Ferrari's season did not always go smoothly. The team threw away the title itself due to several strategic mistakes and problems with the car's reliability. The drivers did not always perform at their best either. Leclerc, for instance, made several driver errors that cost him many points.

In Imola, the Monegasque flew off the track, eventually finishing next to the podium. At the Paul Ricard circuit for the French Grand Prix, Leclerc ended up in the wall from the leading position. Speaking to the French medium, the Monegasque was asked which race was more difficult.

"It's not an easy question to answer because both have been difficult to live with. On the one hand, it's something I have complete control over: mistakes on the track when you push to the limit are things that happen. You know that as a driver, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating. Mistakes are frustrating. Especially at Imola," the Ferrari driver begins.

'That's not easy to live with'

Leclerc has also borne the brunt of Ferrari's strategic mistakes on several occasions. At Silverstone, for instance, the Monegasque was not brought in for new tyres under the safety car, allowing teammate Carlos Sainz to run away with victory. "The other mistakes, the ones you can't necessarily control, are not easy to live with."
