The names Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen are mostly associated with the famous "suck my b***s" incident. That these two drivers would ever become teammates seemed unlikely, but five years later, nothing could be further from the truth.

Hülkenberg spoke out about his upcoming partnership with Magnussen at Haas in 2023. "I expect we will have a good relationship," the German told PlanetF1 and other media. “I said hello to him with his exact same words from ’17. He felt that was quite funny and amusing.”

Respect for each other

Of course, there is always the question of whether what the media says around such an incident is the truth, or whether it has been distorted here and there. In any case, the 35-year-old German has nothing bad to say about his new Danish teammate: “I have absolutely no worries working and racing alongside him. I think we are both grown-up adults, we respect each other and we’ll race for the team, so no problems whatsoever.”

The two drivers both have years of experience in the sport and certainly don't let themselves get knocked off the track. Whether that attitude will turn into another clash is something time will tell, but at least a good team spirit seems to be there.
