Magnussen sees Schumacher returning: 'Stay positive'
- GPblog.com
Kevin Magnussen is an expert by experience. The Dane's career in Formula 1 seemed over, but miraculously he returned to the cockpit of Haas last season. Magnussen even managed to have the highlight of his career, by grabbing pole in Brazil.
In other words: in Formula 1, nothing is impossible. It is a thought Mick Schumacher should hold onto. The German will lose his place at Haas to Nico Hulkenberg next year, but that does not mean we will never see him back on the grid. Magnussen, his teammate at Haas last season, suspects Schumacher will return at some point.
Keep training
To Speedcafe Magnussen therefore says: "Keep training. Keep positive. Stay close to whatever team he’s going to be involved with. He’s got a team behind him who’s going to work hard for him. I’m quite positive that we’ll see him back on the grid, I think. It’s hard to give much better advice," believes the Dane, who points out having made a return to F1 twice himself.
It is still unclear what Schumacher's next move will be. Mercedes is keen to recruit him as a test and reserve driver, but there is no word yet on a signed deal. The German does not have many other options in F1 at the moment
