The departure of Mattia Binotto means that a lot is about to change behind the scenes for Ferrari. The Italians have to search diligently for a successor, with several names echoing through the corridors. Charles Leclerc has every confidence in the team's process, he said in conversation with Formule1.nl.

Since his arrival in 2019, Leclerc has grown accustomed to working with Binotto. Both men had dreams of winning the world title together, but after the disappointing 2022 season, the formation decided to part ways with the team boss.

For Leclerc, the new calendar year will take some getting used to. After all, this will be the first time he will have to deal with a different manager at Ferrari. However, the driver is confident that things will work out. "I've never had a team boss change at a team before," he is nevertheless noted.

"It will take some time for that team boss to get familiar with Ferrari: it's a huge team. But if it's handled in the right way, it won't have an impact on the track. I'm pretty sure it will be a smooth transition."

Ferrari interested in Vasseur

Fred Vasseur, who still races for Alfa Romeo, seems to be a big contender to make the switch. Leclerc is keen on a renewed partnership, although he stresses that it will be Ferrari's decision who is brought in.
