Nico Rosberg does not expect Sebastian Vettel to sit still after retiring from his Formula 1 career. The former Aston Martin driver was already quite concerned with diversity and inequality throughout his career, so Rosberg expects him to continue this.

According to the German, it is important for drivers in the motorsport class to realise themselves that they have a responsibility. Rosberg believes that with their fame, they can do what is necessary for the world and should make use of this. He thinks Vettel will continue to set this example.

"I am sure he will do something where he will contribute to society," Rosberg stated on Any Driven Monday on Sky Sports. "It is hugely important because we in sport have such an opportunity, we have such a big following and we can be role models, set an example and go down paths and explore."

Hamilton taken as an example

In this regard, Rosberg points to his former teammate Lewis Hamilton, who has been fighting for a better world for years. "It has been really nice to see Lewis do that a lot. Of course, sometimes controversial but the way he is taking it is great.

"Vettel has done it, I have been on that path so I think it is going in the right direction," said Rosberg, who has been out of Formula 1 since 2016. In his last season, he beat Hamilton and took his first and only world title.
