Andretti: 'We now have the chance to give F1 a truly American offer'

The positive noises made by Michael and Mario Andretti in the media in recent weeks have come to a nice denouement with the confirmation that Andretti Autosport will partner with Cadillac. Both brands are determined to become the 11th F1 team.
Andretti has been vocal for years about its ambition to create an F1 team, in addition to all the racing classes in which it operates. Especially in 2022, the US company was busy planning to be on the grid as soon as possible. Opposition from the FIA and the current F1 teams hampered the start-up process considerably, but it seems that Formula 1, which sees a growth market in the United States, cannot ignore the Americans now. Cadillac and Andretti form a super team.
Andretti and Cadillac highlight American character
In an official statement announcing the news, Andretti said, "I am proud to have General Motors and Cadillac alongside us as we pursue this goal. We now have the opportunity together to combine our passion and commitment to innovation and to build a true American F1 bid." Andretti said that from now on, the brands will continue to negotiate together with Formula 1 about joining as an eleventh team.
General Motors president Mark Reuss added: "GM is honoured to have this partnership with Andretti Global at this historic moment in racing. [...] Cadillac and F1 both have growing global appeal. Our brand has a motorsports pedigree that’s more than a century in the making, and we would be proud to have the opportunity to bring our distinct American innovation and design to F1."
