Max Verstappen is already in action this month at the virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans on 14 and 15 February. However, the Dutchman is not the only familiar name on the online event's entry list.
The list of participants of the third edition of the virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans has now also been officially released. There will be 180 drivers competing around the world. The race can be followed online on the weekend of 14 and 15 January. As a two-time Formula 1 world champion, Verstappen is of course the biggest name on the list. The Dutchman is competing in the virtual race on behalf of Team Redline. His teammates are British driver Luke Browning, talented sim racer Jeffrey Rietveld and Diogo Pinto.
Besides Verstappen, there are other familiar names on the list of participants. For instance, former F1 driver and current IndyCar star Romain Grosjean will also be in action at the event with R8G Esports. Formula 2 champion Felipe Drugovich will drive Team Redline's second car. The Brazilian driver will fill the role of development and test driver at Aston Martin next season. Current Formula 3 champion Victor Martins is also competing in the event. Other familiar names include the Dutch Beitske Visser and Andy and Sebastian Priaulx.
Verstappen stands a chance of victory
The 24 Hours of Le Mans is the grand finale of the virtual series. The $250,000 prize pool is distributed after the final round, which earns double points. Verstappen's team is currently leading the standings with 78 points, but mathematically, the top eight can still battle for victory.
