Mohammed Ben Sulayem is very happy with the news of the partnership between Andretti and Cadillac. The FIA president hopes that the talks with the brands will go well.

On Thursday, Andretti and General Motors announced that they are joining hands to achieve the ultimate dream together: Formula 1. The FIA already revealed through a spokesperson that this partnership does not guarantee an entry into Formula 1, but the FIA president reacted positively to the news.

FIA happy with Andretti Cadillac's arrival

"I welcome the news of the partnership between Cadillac and Andretti and the FIA looks forward to further discussions on the F1 World Championship Expressions of Interest process," the president announced on his Twitter account. Earlier, the FIA top executive came up with an interpretation of this process, which should make it easier for new teams to make their entry into the king class of motorsport.

Although Andretti is on the hook for a major motorsport brand with General Motors (Cadillac), it will not start with a self-designed engine. Michael Albano, a spokesman for General Motors, informed GPblog on Thursday that they will probably use engines from Alpine.
