Max Verstappen attended the presentation of Red Bull Racing's RB19 in New York on Friday, although as expected the team only showed the livery. Speaking to Viaplay, he details the main areas of improvement in the development of the new car.

Verstappen keen to get into 'real' RB19

Verstappen does look forward to the winter test, scheduled from 23 to 25 February in Bahrain. There, he will get the chance to make his first metres in the RB19. "I am looking forward to it. I think of course I'll like it even more when the real car is there, when you can get in and do your mileage," said the two-time world champion.

The Adrian Newey-designed RB18 grew into the most successful car the Austrian racing stable has ever had, yet there were a number of areas for improvement. "Firstly, of course we knew the car was too heavy all year, so we addressed that. Besides that, there were some technical things that could still be improved," Verstappen said.

By now, the biggest news during Red Bull's launch was an open secret. The team officially announced that it will partner with Ford from 2026, meaning that it will definitely part ways with Honda after 2025.
