Imola GP weather forecast with chance of rain during race

It is time for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola again this weekend. Last year, the race weekend was cancelled due to severe weather and flooding. Weather.com reports that this will not be an issue this year, but there is still a chance of rain during the weekend.

Last season was one big drama in Imola. Stormy weather caused flooding on and off the circuit. The whole region was soaking wet, creating dangerous situations. In the end, it was decided a few days beforehand that the race weekend would be cancelled.

Sunny on Friday and Saturday in Imola

There will be no severe weather this year. On Friday, the sun will shine for both free practice sessions. The chance of rain is estimated at 4 per cent. Furthermore, it will be 24 degrees and winds between 15 and 30km/h.

On Saturday, the third and also last free practice will be held, followed by qualifying in the afternoon. There is little chance of rain, with the chance of precipitation being estimated at 5 per cent. Furthermore, it will be around 25 degrees and there will be a wind of between 10 and 15 km/h.

On Sunday, there is a higher chance of precipitation. Namely, it is 40 per cent. Morning showers are expected, so whether they will affect the race, which takes place at 15:00, remains to be seen.
