While his teammate Max Verstappen will be battling for victory at the British Grand Prix, it will already be quite a task for Sergio Perez to finally get into the points. Starting from 19th place, the Red Bull Racing Mexican will start this Sunday's race after another dramatic qualifying session, in which he ended up in the gravel trap in Q1.

So this is not the first time Perez has had problems on Saturday. That worries Red Bull, but certainly also Perez. "Yes, I'm just just trying to find the solutions," he told the likes of GPblog. "Really, I think we're making good progress. We are just about to unlock a couple of things from our side and our life will be very different, back to where we were at the start of the year. So, yeah, let's keep our head down and full focus on to the race tomorrow."

Perez under pressure at Red Bull Racing

Meanwhile, it is clear that Perez's plodding may not continue for too long. Indeed, Red Bull is reportedly considering sidelining the Mexican - despite a just-signed contract - for '25 if he fails to perform at the remaining Grands Prix before the summer break. Perez says he has not spoken to Helmut Marko and Christian Horner about that.

"No, no, no, nothing. Nothing about it. I'm fully focused on my job, which is to deliver tomorrow. So I don't have to do anything else. The most concern about it is myself. So I want to get back to my form as early as possible. And yeah, I'm just fully focused on my form," Perez concluded.
