Emotional Hamilton sobbing behind wheel after British GP: 'Means a lot!'

Lewis Hamilton's last race victory in Formula 1 dated back to 2021, but at Silverstone, the seven-time world champion finally won again. An emotional Mercedes driver appeared on the board radio after winning the British Grand Prix. It caused loud applause in the Silverstone grandstands.

"Get in there, Lewis! You're the man, you're the man!", Peter Bonnington, also known as Bono, shouted over the radio.
"Thank you so much guys, it means a lot to get this one," said Hamilton, who was sobbing behind the wheel of the W15. "A big thank you to the fans, I love you guys!" the emotionalised man said while driving the lap of honour. It was Hamilton's last race at Silverstone with the Mercedes team.
After Hamilton's emotional speech, team principal Toto Wolff also appeared briefly on the team radio. "We never give up, and what a sign-off!" said Wolff, referring to Hamilton's last British Grand Prix for the Mercedes team.
