Norris finishes third at British Grand Prix

Lando Norris joined the one-two-three British line up for Sunday's British Grand Prix. At the end of the race, he finished third. The McLaren driver was critical over his performance, after leading the race at one point, and letting Max Verstappen through towards the end to take second.

Norris secured his maiden F1 win in Miami this season, and looked to secure his second at home in Silverstone. Nevertheless, the British driver lost out to Lewis Hamilton. "I mean, first of all, congrats to Lewis. That crucial decision at the end, he just did a better job, so hats off to him and Mercedes, so they deserve it," he told Jenson Button.

Norris critical of himself again

Having finished third, Norris remained critical of his performance, and the team's decisions during the wet race. "It was tough, it was enjoyable, it was fun battling these guys and these tricky conditions are always on a knife edge and you're risking a lot so many things were good but a few too many letdowns today and as a team I don't think we did quite the job we should have done, but it's still lovely to be on the podium here in Silverstone."

"I blame myself today for not making some of the right decisions. I hate it. I hate ending up in this position and ever having excuses for not doing a good enough job. But I'm still happy. I'm still going to enjoy it. I think we still did so many things right. So many positives. But especially here in Silverstone, the one place I would love for everything to go perfectly, it didn't today. But I'm good, we'll come back stronger next year and try again," he concluded.
