Leclerc nearly "shunts" with unaware Piastri in FP3

Entering the final third of FP3, Oscar Piastri and Charles Leclerc almost crashed into each other on the straight following Lesmo 2. Leclerc tried to overtake the McLaren, but he had to go on the grass to avoid collision.

After Leclerc already held up Piastri on a flying lap into Turns 1 and 2, he then tried to get past the Australian on the back straight. However, Piastri left the Ferrari driver left him now space. "I almost shunted with Piastri," the Monegasque driver commented on the incident over his team radio. The stewards will investigate the incident following the session.

Driving behind the pair, Daniel Ricciardo also commented what happened: "Gosh... That was a mess"
