Carlos Sainz is a four-time Grand Prix winner in Formula One. In 2023, the Spaniard won at the Singapore GP, which was the only time not a Red Bull driver crossed the finish line in first place. Sainz is still very proud of his performance that day.

Sainz on his victories in Formula 1

Sainz first won at the 2022 British GP, then a year later in Singapore the aforementioned way. In the 2024 season, the Spaniard has then finished in P1 in Melbourne and Mexico City.

Speaking to Auto, Motor und Sport, the Ferrari driver explained which victory was the most special for him. "It has more to do with the situation in which they were achieved. The first victory at Silverstone is of course forever the most emotional. But Singapore also meant a lot to me because of the state Formula 1 was in with Verstappen's dominance. There was only one chance to win a race," he began.

"Australia was especially important because of the appendicitis just before and Hamilton's announcement, which at the time was also only a month away," Sainz continued. "My whole family was there in Mexico. It was maybe the last chance to win a race for Ferrari. So all the wins have a special meaning, I am proud of all four."

Before joining Williams in 2025, Carlos Sainz will compete in his final three Grands Prix for Ferrari, starting in Las Vegas next weekend.
