Schumacher responds to Perez's father's comments: 'Not how I'd do that...'
Recently, Sergio Perez's father, Antonio Perez Garibay participated in ESPN's podcast, stood up for his son. In the process, he made comments about Ralf Schumacher coming out this season, when talking about the criticism Sergio Perez received for the German. Schumacher responded to Perez Sr. on social media.
On ESPN, Perez's father said the following when talking about the former German F1 driver. "There's a driver who was a Formula 1 driver, [turned] journalist. He first stated that Checo was already out of Red Bull. The following week he [Schumacher] came out of the closet. Don't know if he was in love with Checo. Do you understand it? There are many strange things. You no longer know if he is a journalist, a woman, a gentleman."
As a result, Schumacher decided to react to these comments on social media. He is not angry with Perez Sr., but underlined he personally would take a different approach in terms of helping his son. Ralf himself also has a family member in the paddock, as Michael's son, Mick Schumacher is Mercedes' reserve driver.
"I would also stand behind my son 100% and try to help. That's what you do as a father. As far as style is concerned, I would be different but we know Mr Perez with all his emotions. That's why I'm not angry with him. However, I think that results on the track would be the better arguments," Schumacher wrote on his Instagram. See the post below!
