Norris on Verstappen - Russell saga: “Max doesn't try to intimidate”
It's the talk of the paddock: the feud between Max Verstappen and George Russell ignited after their Qualifying incident, has exploded in Abu Dhabi, and Lando Norris is one of the various figures around the paddock who has given his take on the matter, and it's hilarious in Norris own way.
When asked on Sky Sports, if there was any way for the conflict between the Red Bull and Mercedes drivers to be smoothed out, Norris was very straight forward: "I hope it doesn't get smoothed out. I hope they stay fighting and arguing, because it's amusing to watch", said Norris, funnily.
Norris: "Some people don't like to hear the truth"
However, after taking a more serious approach on the matter, he seemed to imply that while Verstappen was only speaking honestly, Russell could have issues hearing the truth. "Every other driver has their own way of doing things. I don't think Max tries to intimidate. Max just says the truth in his opinion. A lot of the time he just says the truth about things and people don't like to hear the truth nowadays in life".
Elaborating a bit more on Verstappen's way of going about things, Norris also reaffirmed the respect he felt for the two quarreling drivers. "He's honest and he just gives his opinion and I'm completely fine with that. Sometimes I disagree with his opinion, sometimes I agree. But that's life, that's what happens in life and we move on. I respect Max a lot, I respect George a lot", before closing with a rather remarkable thought that just leaves one wondering. "But I don't mind if they lose respect for one another".
