This is why Verstappen is so strong: 'It's really unbelievable'
The Brazilian Grand Prix was discussed during Viaplay's 2024 F1 season review. It was in Interlagos where Max Verstappen made a startling comeback from P17 all the way to P1 in a commanding fashion. Dutch expert analysts Giedo van der Garde, Christijan Albers and Tom Coronel all claim that this was the race that decided the championship.
"Verstappen just doesn't care about anybody at all," started Van der Garde in reaction to when the the Dutchman said he would not change his driving style for Lando Norris's sake. After what were a pair of controversial and messy races in America and Mexico, Verstappen showed the world exactly why he was a three time (now four time) world champion in Brazil with his scintillating drive from P17.

Coronel then explained what 'kind' of Verstappen performed best. "A taunted Verstappen, that's the best Verstappen. If you make him angry, he does things no one else can." He also commented on the Dutchman's skill in wet weather conditions. "In the rain, Verstappen just knows where to find the grip. It's unbelievable. He drives lines that nobody else drives. He does things no one else does."
After a mistake riddled race in Sao Paulo which saw him eventually fall out of contention for the Drivers' Championship, Norris said to media after getting out of his car that Verstappen got lucky due to the safety car and the subsequent red flag, and that Red Bull had taken a gamble. Albers then added, "Luck you also have to create, they sometimes say, for example, behind the safety car. But after that, he really did show that he was the fastest on the track," referring to the 17 fastest laps the Red Bull Racing driver set from the restart of the race until the chequered flag.
