It's Christmas, but even so, F1 news don't stop coming in and as usual, GPBlog does a round up of the most relevant news of the day.
Ferrari suicide, Verstappen like Senna
Eddie Jordan, former team owner, has asked John Elkann, Ferrari CEO, "what the f**k were they thinking to send Sainz away", and has labeled ousting the Spaniard as "suicidal", though he makes clear it's nothing to do with Lewis Hamilton. In other news F1 champion, Max Verstappen has been dubbed as one of the greatest of all time in a conversation between Peter Windsor and F1 aficionado Cory Petesauro.
Red Bull Racing have also come up with a rather humorous unboxing video with their lead driver, for whom Helmut Marko has a very difficult wish ahead of the 2025 season, who at the same time states that Verstappen does not have a paternity leave clause in his contract. In more Red Bull related news, although 2024 was a challenging year for its leadership, particularly so for team boss, Christian Horner, the Briton never thought about stepping away from his role, he says, while at the same time taking a dig at fellow team boss Toto Wolff, claiming he was the last to know about Hamilton leaving for Ferrari.
McLaren criticised over their papaya rules, Mercedes 'unfair' in 2021
Jos Verstappen has criticised McLaren for their so called papaya rules, joining a team of Dutch F1 analysts who also fail to see the significance of the team's philosophical approach to racing. In more McLaren news, Marc Priestley, former mechanic for the Woking based team has indicated Williams could be an exciting destination for Verstappen in light of the upcoming 2026 regulations overhaul the sport will experience.
Former teammates, Hamilton and George Russell have also issued compelling advices to the numerous rookies that will take their first start in 2025, while the current Mercedes driver tells them to enjoy it, the Ferrari bound seven time world champion urges them not to do everything they are told to do. In more Mercedes related news, Red Bull mechanic Calum Nicholas has criticised the German team for acting irritatingly in 2021 title battle.
