Jeremy Clarkson has playfully responded to Lewis Hamilton's much-discussed first days at his new Formula 1 team, Ferrari. The British presenter came up with his own version of a photo of Hamilton, which many people saw as similar to Don Corleone from The Godfather.
Jeremy Clarkson mocks 'Don' Hamilton
Clarkson, best known for presenting Top Gear, The Grand Tour and Clarkson's Farm, follows F1 closely. Consequently, Hamilton's first days in Maranello have not gone unnoticed by the television presenter.
Even before the former Mercedes driver got behind the wheel of Ferrari's SF-23 for their TPC test, he caused a stir with his first photo as a part of the Scuderia. This showed Hamilton posing next to a Ferrari F40 in front of Enzo Ferrari's house. Clarkson playfully responded to the much-discussed photo and came up with his own version, captioned: Lewis Clarkilton.
Clarkson often comments on events in F1. Last year, for instance, he judged Max Verstappen to be maybe "the greatest driver we’ve ever seen" and called Hamilton "past his prime". "Of course, it’s possible that because Lewis is moving to Ferrari next year, the team are filling his fuel tank with lemon barley water instead of petrol. But that seems unlikely. It’s far more probable that he’s now too old," Clarkson stated at the time.
