The FIA will be even stricter in terms of the use of flexible wings. According to Autoracer.it, after consultation over the winter, a new technical directive that was issued should ensure that the tracks used to make front wings flexible will be reduced.

After the reports of the Italian news site, The Race stated that the load used to test the wings will remain the same, but they are now more constrained in terms of how much flexing is allowed.

Currently, regulations dictate that the wings cannot flex more than 15 millimetres. The number will be reportedly now changed to 10 millimetres. The method of mesuring the wings will be also changed, making it harder to play around with the rules. A source tells the website that tampering with flexible wings will no longer be possible.

Rules enforced beginning the Spanish GP

As the teams were obviously already working hard on their 2025 challengers, some time will be needed until the new directive will come into play. While the Emilia Romagna GP was the target initially, the new rules would now take effect beginning at the Spanish Grand Prix.

The use of wings, flexible or not, was much debated last season. McLaren and Mercedes were said to have used such tricks to have an advantage over Red Bull and Ferrari. Not coincidentally, these two teams then protested the use of these parts.
