Norris warns Verstappen already: 'I won't do that again!'
Over the 2024 season, Max Verstappen and Lando Norris locked horns on multiple occasions on track as the two were fighting for the drivers' championship. Entering next year, the British driver has underlined he'll have a new approach when fighting on track against the Red Bull driver.
Norris sends warning to Verstappen
In 2024, the battle ended with Verstappen winning the all-important drivers' title, after the duo were also involved in great battles that led to penalties as well. Norris was penalised at COTA, while Verstappen was penalised in Mexico City.
This season, Norris no longer wants to be too shy on track when fighting against the Dutchman. Speaking to Sky Sports, the Briton began: "I need to get my elbows out and I need to show him that I'm not going to willingly give him any positions, those kind of things. But I also have to be a smart driver. You have to be a smart driver to go up against Max."
Revisiting the previous year, Norris also saw that he could have driven better himself: "I look forward to them. I like those moments when you have to make those quick decisions. It's always a lot harder when you're in the car than when you rewatch it after. Even when I see some things that I do, I'm like, 'what the hell have I done? What an idiot.'."
Now, after already completing Pirelli tyre tests and driving the MCL39 already, the 2025 has already began soon for Norris. Next Tuesday, the F1 75 event is set to take place in London at the O2 Arena, then the pre-season test will follow 26-28 February in Bahrain. "It's exciting. First year for all of us as a team that we're coming in as champions and with some targets on our back. It feels good, but the guys are doing an amazing job. So, yes, good to be back," the driver concluded.
