Verstappen comes up with curt response to Monaco proposal: '25 stops are fine too'

18 February was not only the day of the big F1 75 Live event, a number of proposed changes were also announced by the FIA. One of these was the proposal to increase the number of mandatory pit stops during the Monaco Grand Prix. Max Verstappen reacts to the plans in his own unique way.

Verstappen: 'One stop, two stops, 25 stops -It's all fine'

On Tuesday, the FIA published a number of changes for the 2025 Formula 1 season, including the previously announced stricter flexiwing tests. However, the proposal for more mandatory pit stops at the Monaco GP caused the most uproar. What does Verstappen think of the idea?

"I only just read about that. I don't know if it's going to make a massive difference or whatever," Verstappen told the media present, including GPblog. He adds a curt comment: "I don't mind, honestly, if it's one stop, two stops, 25 stops. It's all fine. I do whatever is decided, right?"

The four-time World Champion does believe the Monaco GP could use a bit more spectacle. "Yes, it's just one of these tracks where it's very hard to pass. Of course, the bigger we make the cars, the more difficult it is also to race. I felt like in 2016 there was still a little bit of an opportunity. Now that's gone. If the two pit stops help, I don't know, but I guess we'll find out, right?"
