Max Verstappen could begin the morning session with a new front wing on his car on Day 3 of pre-season testing in Bahrain, as the Dutchman is set to complete both morning and afternoon sessions. Early on, the RB21 began with the old front wing, but it has since been replaced with the new one.
What's different about Verstappen's car?
Verstappen said he was positively surprised by the performance of the RB21 on Wednesday in Sakhir. On Thursday, only Liam Lawson was behind the steering wheel of the car, and now, Verstappen will drive it during both sessions on the Friday. The defending world champion already drove with a new front wing on the car today.
The new nose is slightly rounder compared to the old one, and there is a small opening at the bottom, which should provide more aerodynamics. This should reduce drag on the long straights. GPblog is present at the Bahrain International Circuit and managed to get closer look on the latest change to the RB21.
A tech analysis will soon follow as well, but first, see the pictures below of the new front wing below!
