Over the course 2025 Formula 1 season, Max Verstappen will become a father for the first time. While Kelly Piquet's exact due date is not known, previous hints suggest the Brazilian in the final stage of her pregnancy. Helmut Marko has also already taken this scenario into account and explains what the plan will be.

Piquet recently shared a photo on her Instagram story showing her shopping for baby clothes in the girls' department. The gender of their baby has been kept under wraps, but signs point to it being a girl. Verstappen revealed on Friday that it was all relaxed at home.

Marko on Verstappen becoming a father

It is becoming a real-life scenario that Verstappen misses a race to have his child born. However, Marko does not feel like this will impact Verstappen's racing this season. "Don't worry, it won't affect him. He will run his programme at home as well, regardless of whether there is a child screaming," Marko revealed to Austrian medium Oe24.

Verstappen himself has also previously explained that he hopes it will not affect his career too much. "To be honest, I hope not a lot will change. In terms of driving, it shouldn’t. It’s for sure very exciting. It’s very difficult to put that into words until the baby is born. But for sure I am looking forward to it a lot, and looking forward to that whole experience throughout the year."
