Renault star Daniel Ricciardo has called on his team to tweak some things on the RS19 to suit his driving style better, as the Aussie highlights braking as the main part that could improve on the ride.

Ricciardo hasn't hit the ground running since his controversial switch from Red Bull Racing this year, as the 29-year-old retired in the first two races of the season. In China, he did get on the board for Renault, finishing best of the rest in P7, while teammate Nico Hülkenberg retired early-on from the race.

The seven-time Grand Prix winner explained to Crash.net that now he's getting more of a feel for the car, he can ask Renault to tweak certain elements to his liking.

“I’m starting to get some priorities because the more I drive it the more things I’ll come back on, like braking,” he explained.

“Let’s say feeling confidence, ride, feeling under braking, this is an area that can be improved. I can improve what I’m doing with the current car but in general the car can be better in this area.

“The other areas are downforce and these kinds of things which are normal. So that is one thing I’ll probably prioritise for now. But I think things will come naturally.”
