After getting his redemption in Baku by winning the 2019 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Valtteri Bottas explained he couldn't make any mistakes for the entirety of the race, as teammate Lewis Hamilton was right on his tail.

2018 featured some absolute heartbreak for Bottas, when he punctured his tyre three laps before the end of the race while he was in the lead. He went from 25 to 0 points. This year, it never looked in doubt, with the Finn first grabbing pole position and then driving away from the pack after some early pressure from Hamilton.

25 more points for the Finn and his second win of the season.

"It was a tough race even if not much happened at the front," Bottas told Paul Di Resta afterwards.

"Lewis was putting pressure all the time so I couldn't do any mistakes. Everything was under control so I was happy to see the chequered flag."

He's not in the championship lead just yet as he trails Hamilton by a tiny margin, but the form that he's in has Bottas very happy.

"It means a lot. It's incredible as a team the level we are performing at now. For me, it's only my fifth win so it feels good and it carries on."
