Sergio Perez says Friday was a "tricky day" after a poor FP1 + FP2
Sergio Perez has spoken about his "tricky day" during Fridays practice sessions where Racing Point struggled to perform. The Mexican finished FP1 in 17th and FP2 18th and will hope for a major increase in performance for tomorrow. His teammate crashed out earlier in the day making it a day Racing Point will hope to forget.
"It was a tricky day," he said to Motorsport.com. "A couple of issues here and there, a lot to analyze for tonight, and hopefully we can get some lap time and extract some potential of the car. We seem to be competitive in a couple of occasions, but then we were quite far away.
"At the moment everything looks very bad, as it looked on Friday last year. So a lot to be analyzed tonight, and hopefully we can pick up some pace and be further up the grid.
"It's early to say. We will know later on, but certainly, we are not where we want to be. We will see. I think tomorrow we will have a clear idea of where we are."
The Mexican racer will hope Saturday is a more successful day.
