Wolff wary of Ferrari and Red Bull "rebound"
Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff has said that he is not scared of Ferrari or Red Bull, but knows that they have the capability to react to his team’s dominance this season.
Mercedes recorded their fifth consecutive 1-2 finish at the start of the 2019 season as Lewis Hamilton led Valtteri Bottas home in Spain on Sunday.
Mercedes lead over Ferrari is already a staggering 96 points. To put that into context, the difference between the two teams was only 84 points in the entirety of last season.
Wolff said: “No fear. Both teams [Ferrari and Red Bull] have the right resources and have the tools that could easily make them rebound.
“We’ve seen a weekend in Barcelona now that was probably one of the strongest we’ve had in seven years but we are swinging a little bit with the news.
“If we have a strong weekend from Ferrari in Monaco everybody will write and say this stops Mercedes and is this the end of the Mercedes dominance this year.”
