Ricciardo - "I never thought I'd be so happy for a fourth place in qualifying!"
Daniel Ricciardo qualified fourth for the Canadian Grand Prix and hopes that he can use this position to try and get a podium finish, his first of the season. Renault has not been competitive so far this season so the team will have got a massive boost from this result and they will hope that both cars can score some significant points during today's race.
"I never thought I'd be so happy for a fourth place in qualifying; it feels like a pole position!" Ricciardo said after qualifying. "It was so cool when they told me over the radio that I was fourth. I'm really happy for the team today.
"The track is fun, I've always enjoyed it here. We seemed quick from the start today. Even yesterday we were fast, but we made further improvements and managed to put it all together for qualifying.
"We'll see about the race. The start could be interesting. For now, we will enjoy this moment as a fourth in qualifying is huge for us."
Daniel Ricciardo will hope that he can get a good start and look for his first podium finish of the season.
