Hamilton thinks F1 can do a lot to improve the sport

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton believes Formula 1 can do much more to improve the sport, with much criticism of the competition being dished out recently.
Hamilton started his F1 career back in 2007, with much smaller cars and more one-on-one battles. Many supporters of the sport believe that nowadays it is full of teams trying to save its tyres and fuel levels until the end of the race - making for less engaging viewing.
The five-time world champion has pointed out some improvements that he would personally make to the sport to make it as exciting as it used to be.
"There is a lot that Formula 1 can do to improve the sport," Hamilton started explaining to Motorsport-Total. "In the past, everything at Spa (Belgian GP circuit) was still grass and gravel next to the track. If you made a mistake, you knew it would be over.
"Pouhon was a great turn, but now you can go through it full of gas and a mistake doesn't matter. The same of course applies to Eau Rouge, which used to be surrounded by walls and gravel."
With the FIA and Liberty Media having been locked in negotiations for months over the proposed regulation overhaul in 2021, it finally seems we have come to a conclusion now - of course, the changes to the regulations planned to make the sport more exciting once more.
