Steiner urges Haas to "work harder" to catch rivals
Guenther Steiner has urged his Haas team to put in the hard graft to ensure they catch and potentially overtake the teams above them in the Constructors' Championship.
Haas sit down in eighth in the constructors' standings after a run of poor results, with the exception of the Spanish Grand Prix.
McLaren and Renault have broken out of the midfield pack and Haas will be looking for a good result in France this weekend to join the race for fourth, one they lost last season.
In an interview on Pitpass.com, Steiner said: "We're obviously behind in points which we should have scored, but for one or another reason we didn't get them. We weren't there at the right time to pick them up.
"What we have to do now is roll our sleeves up and work even harder to try to get some of the points back that we lost in the first-third of the season."
The charismatic Haas boss also added that the team need to work harder to understand the tyres, something the squad has struggled with so far this season.
He said: "The upgrades performed very well. Everything went to plan there. We don't have an issue with the pace of the car, we just need to understand the tyres better.
"We'll bring on more developments for the rest of the season. They won't be as big as the Barcelona upgrade package, but we've got quite a few smaller ones coming."
