Marko plays down Gasly replacement rumors

Pierre Gasly had a difficult weekend in his Red Bull in France and has been on the end of various rumours to being replaced before the end of the season, but Helmut Marko has played down these rumours.
Marko was spotted in conversation with Nicolas Todt, who is the manager of Toro Rosso driver Daniil Kvyat, which sparked a variety of rumours linking the Russian with a return to the senior Red Bull team.
But Marko insisted that the rumours are false in conversation with Motorsport-Magazin: “That rumour is not correct. Last week, Nico Hülkenberg was our replacement, and now it is Daniil Kvyat.
“I talk to a lot of people. I also talked to his father, Jean.”
After reassuring that Gasly will not be replaced for this season he went on to talk about what the team are doing to figure out why he didn’t have the pace expected at the weekend before Austria.
“We are planning to finish with Gasly this season,” he added.
“He must be worried about the speed he showed in France. That is why we are taking the car apart for Austria to see if there is anything wrong with it.”
