Alfa Romeo looking for double points finish in Austria
Alfa Romeo Racing boss Frederic Vasseur says the team is looking for both cars to finish in the points this weekend in Austria after a return to form last time out in France.
Antonio Giovinazzi made it through to Q3 at Circuit Paul Ricard and although he went backwards during the race, Kimi Raikkonen came through to take a strong seventh place, ending a run of three races without scoring.
Whilst Giovinazzi's blank for the season extended to eight races, the Italian's form is improving and Vasseur thinks that both his cars can find their way into the top ten at the Red Bull Ring.
Vasseur said: “Everyone is talking about the points scored for our Team in Le Castellet, but for me it was even more important to see how the team reacted to the streak of weak races.
“We picked ourselves up, we worked hard and we got the performance back into the car and that was exactly the spirit I wanted to see. Austria will be no different and that’s why I’m quite confident for both cars to score points. At least that’s our goal.”
