Magnussen holds no grudge after "suck my balls" comment to Hulkenberg
Kevin Magnussen confirms he's holding no grudges against Nico Hulkenberg after the pair clashed during the 2017 Formula 1 season. While the current Haas driver admits he doesn't have much communication with Hulkenberg, he insists he doesn't hold any grudges.
Magnussen and Hulkenberg came together during the final laps of the Hungarian Grand Prix. Hulkenberg didn't like Magnussen's actions and claimed K-dog was an unsporting driver.
Following that, the words "suck my balls, honey" came out to produce what was thought to be hatred between the two drivers. Two years on, and both drivers are still competing within the sport and at similar levels. At the end of last season, they were both pushing for the 'best of the rest' position.
However, Magnussen doesn't believe the disagreement has lasted between the two drivers.
“He interrupted an interview and it was pretty disrespectful and I just didn’t think about what I was gonna say, but you know I just wanted him to bugger off and that was what came to mind. Yeah, I think he asked for it," Magnussen said on Formula 1's podcast 'Beyond The Grid'.
"I think Nico took it really personally and he still doesn’t ever talk to me. I think he really holds a grudge after that. I respect him a lot as a driver but I don’t know him as a person, I think a lot of fans and people that follow Formula 1 think there is this thing between me and Nico, but there really isn’t. He is a driver that I really respect on the grid."
