Ferrari appoints three members to replace Binotto's technical director role
Mattia Binotto no longer occupies the technical director role at Ferrari. Instead, three engineers have been appointed to replace Binotto who will now get to spend more time fulfilling his role as team principal.
During the winter, Binotto was the man chosen to replace Maurizio Arrivabene as Ferrari's team principal. But it seems that Binotto has been struggling to manage both roles. To end his juggling act, Ferrari has moved three people into the technical director role.
According to Speed Week, Enrico Cardile (Suspension), Corrado Lotti (engine) and Simone Resta (2021 project) will fill the gap left by Binotto. The Italian gives his thoughts after the announcement.
“Since I was appointed team principal, we reorganised things internally because I had to be supported especially on the technical side. It’s not the same team anymore and it’s not entirely true that I have a dual role," Binotto said.
