Mercedes are praying for rain at the German Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton is hoping that there will be rain during the German Grand Prix. Mercedes seems to have some issues with cooling and had problems in Austria with high track temperatures. One way that they can get around this is if it rains and Hamilton is hoping that it does so that the same issues don't reoccur at this circuit.
“If it stays this hot we are going to struggle and be in trouble,” Hamilton told Reuters.
“There is not much we can do, it is a much bigger design issue when it gets hot which is not so easy to change.
“We are working towards it but it is very small steps and small increments which are not making a massive difference.
“It is definitely a good thing if it rains.”
At the moment there is a 60% chance of precipitation on Sunday which could lead to an exciting race. We haven't had a wet race this season and when it does rain the truly talented drivers always shine.
