Live | Formula 1 German Grand Prix FP2 - Will Ferrari stay on top?
After an impressive performance in FP1 it will be interesting to see if Ferrari can stay ahead as they continue their battle for their first Grand Prix win of the season. Teams and drivers battled with the heat in FP1 and it is set to be even hotter this session, meaning that the drivers will have to manage overheating as they clock up their laps.
Sebastian Vettel topped FP1 with a 1.14.013 and Charles Leclerc was not far behind him in second. They will have to keep the two Mercedes behind them who are known to be having issues with cooling.
Max Verstappen looked fast in his Red Bull and is also one to watch. However, Pierre Gasly seemed to struggle again but spent much of FP1 doing longer runs.
It is thought that the drivers really pushed it in FP1 as it could be too hot to get any representative data in this session.
The midfield battle is as tight as ever with positions never settling and changing constantly. Williams will be pleased with the fact that their upgrade seems to have increased their speed by about half a second per lap.
It will be interesting to see who comes out on top and if Ferrari can continue their momentum.
