What time does the Hungarian Grand Prix start
Max Verstappen put in a near-perfect lap to claim pole for the first time in his Formula 1 career at the Hungarian Grand Prix but what time does the race start?
Max Verstappen claimed a stunning pole position to pip the Mercedes with a new track record. The Dutchman's time of 1:14.572 was enough to claim pole by just 0.018 but he was almost a second quicker than his teammate Pierre Gasly.
Mercedes were hot on the tail of the pole-sitter though, with Valtteri Bottas out-qualifying his teammate Lewis Hamilton for the second time in the last three races. After their worst performance for a long time in Germany, Mercedes will want to bounce back at the Hungaroring and are well placed to do so.
It was a frustrating afternoon for Ferrari who saw Charles Leclerc slam his car into the barriers at the last turn, damaging his rear wing. His team managed to repair his car and get him back out but he could only manage P4 on the grid whilst his teammate, Sebastian Vettel was one place back in fifth.
McLaren put themselves in prime position to strengthen their grip on best of the rest as they qualified seventh and eighth. However, it was frustration for Daniel Ricciardo who will start 18th on the grid.
