Luca Ghiotto has had no contact with Toro Rosso
Luca Ghiotto has revealed he still hopes of a shot at Formula 1 but admitted he has had no contact from anyone let alone Toro Rosso. Ghiotto was recently linked with a possible seat at Red Bull's sister team.
Ghiotto is currently racing for Virtuosi Racing in Formula 2 and has had a good season sitting fourth in the Drivers' Championship, with two poles and two victories to his name.
The Italian's only experience in the pinnacle of motorsport came in 2017 when he tested for Williams at the post-Hungarian Grand Prix test. However, Sky in Italy recently suggested that Ghiotto could be lined up by Toro Rosso and Helmut Marko.
Ghiotto revealed he hadn't had any contact over a potential F1 seat but did admit he is still hopeful of a shot at the big time.
"From Toro Rosso, I didn't receive any phone calls," Ghiotto told Motorbox at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
"Obviously I hope there is a crack, maybe someone knows that they are going to call me.
"The fact, however, is that at the moment I had no contact with anyone, let alone from Faenza. Absolute zero."
