Jos Verstappen: Hamilton is feeling the pressure "Why would he respond to rumours"
Lewis Hamilton may lead the Drivers' Championship by 62 points and Mercedes may hold a lead of 150 points but Jos Verstappen feels the Brit is starting to feel the pressure.
Hamilton has won eight of 12 races this season including the last race before the summer break in Hungary, which saw him overtakes Jos' son, Max in the closing stages. Max Verstappen is seen as the in-form driver on the grid having won in Austria and Germany and pushed the five-time World Champion to the line.
One of the recent hot topics for discussion has been who is the best driver on the grid with the likes of Nico Rosberg taking the side of the Red Bull man. With the debate hotting up Jos Verstappen believes Hamilton is starting to feel the pressure.
“You can tell by the things Hamilton has been saying,” Jos Verstappen said as quoted by the Express.
“Why would he respond to rumours? He says that the Honda engine is better than Mercedes now, but I don’t think that’s the case on the straights.
“When you see what kind of races Max has been driving, I don’t think you can be surprised.”
